Professional Statement

Luella Newcomer is a licensed clinical social worker with a heart for helping people find hope, healing, and their true identity and purpose. She received her bachelor's degree in social work from Penn State University. Luella has experience working in a variety of medical settings, including hospitals, home health care, hospice, and long-term care.   After raising her three sons, she attained her master’s degree in social work from Temple University. 

 

Her life’s journey has taught her many hard lessons through experiences of family health concerns, divorce, grief and loss, insecurity, and fear of abandonment. The pursuit of her own healing spurred her to help others find their hope and healing offered in a safe, compassionate, Christ-centered atmosphere.  For the past eight years, Luella has served as a private practitioner in a non-profit, church affiliated setting, offering counseling to individuals, couples, and families.

Luella believes that all things are possible with God; and no matter what difficulties we go through…abuse, anxiety, depression, divorce, marital problems, health issues, grief and loss, identity, insecurity, fear, etc.…that healing, strength, and true identity and purpose are forged in the process of overcoming life’s fiery trials.  She is honored to walk with you on your healing journey and help you find your path to hope, healing, peace, true identity, and greater purpose.

Luella is newly re-married and enjoys spending time with her husband and with their five children and nine grandchildren.  In her spare time, she also likes to do home renovations and decorating, landscaping, swimming, and reading.
