Professional Statement

Andrew Freehling is a predoctoral psychology intern at The Center for Psychological Services & Life Coaching. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg before enrolling at Duquesne University where he is currently pursuing his doctorate in School Psychology. He earned a Master’s Degree of Science in Education as part of his graduate studies. Presently, Andrew is completing his final year of doctoral training.

Andrew's doctoral studies have afforded him experience working with youths and adolescents and he has performed psychoeducational assessments for individuals from pre-K through 12th grade. In his clinical training at The Center for Psychological Services & Life Coaching, Andrew provides supervised care to children and adult population seeking counseling and therapy support for a variety of mental health concerns. His clinical interests include depression, anxiety, panic attacks, and trauma. ​Andrew takes a person-centered, humanistic approach to therapy that includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. He views the therapeutic relationship as a powerful tool that can be used to help clients better understand themselves and to live their life as they wish.

 

In addition to the counseling services Andrew provides, he also participates in psychological testing and evaluation services with our psychological assessment team at the practice serving both child and adult populations with various evaluation needs such as ADHD testing, learning evaluations, evaluation to clarify diagnoses and more.
