Professional Statement

“Art is a vehicle that allows us to transcend linear time, to travel backward and forward into personal and transpersonal history, into possibilities that weren’t realized and those that might be.” -Pat Allen

I am a master’s Level Clinician working toward my state licensure, recently graduating from Seton Hill University as an Art Therapist specializing in professional counseling. I have an extensive background in community education and advocacy. I have a background in working in the healthcare system as well as an educator in community settings as well as schools. I have worked with students and clients ranging from the age of 4 to the age of 75. I have a passion for working with people who struggle with body image issues, eating disorders and self-esteem, and addiction, those who are struggling with different life transitions such as retirement, and those who are in search of a deeper, more spiritually led life. I also have a personal passion for supporting families and the children within those families with special needs and neurodiversity. Having my own child who is neurodiverse has allowed me to see the need to be an advocate for these families and their children.

I am a clinician who focuses on a person-centered approach and utilize the therapeutic relationship to lead the way within each therapy session. As an Art Therapist, I utilize creative processes such as journaling, image making, and deconstruction as means to support personal discovery and growth. Certified in TF-CBT and with training and practice in mindfulness, MORE (Mindfulness Oriented Recovery Enhancement) and ACT therapy modalities, my focus will be to support clients in learning to love and find beauty in the present moment, learning to accept and learn from difficulty and find meaning and purpose within the struggle called life while learning to know themselves better.
